Charlize Theron is a South-African actress known for many movie roles starting in the late 1990’s and also for her modeling career.
Charlize Theron was born in Benoni, South Africa in 1974. She studied in Johannesburg until the age of 16, when she won a modeling contract in a competition and went to Milan. She spent one year as a model, and ended up in New York by the end of the modeling contract. Theron then decided to study ballet, but due to an injury she was forced to give up dancing. She moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18.
During the early 1990’s Charlize Theron received only minor roles. She was discovered in 1997 after the huge success of The Devil’s Advocate, in which Theron starred along with Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino. She started to receive more significant roles, and played lead role in movies such as The Astronaut’s Wife and The Cider House Rules (both in 1999), and many more.
Charlize Theron has also proven to be very talented during the early 2000’s. She starred in movies of different genres ranging from horror through romance to action movies. Her more
recent films are the remake of The Italian Job (2003), and Monster (2003) for which Theron won the Academy Award for Best Actress in Leading Role.
Today, Charlize Theron is on the top of her acting career. Despite the movie did not become a box office hit, Theron received good critics for her last film, Aeon Flux (2005). She is currently working on The Brazilian Job, the sequel to The Italian Job. Besides acting, she is also the spokeswoman of Dior perfume.
